When you walk the Boardwalk, you are constantly absorbing the stench of Marijuana smoke. If you sit on a bench, you are either surrounded by squawking seagulls or approached by the countless homeless people asking for something. I walked between the far East end to Florida Avenue multiple times and different times of the day and found nothing inviting or welcoming about it. I was in Atlantic City the week after the 4th of July staying at a nearby hotel and for that time of year, I expected to see an energetic, vibrant and welcoming scene.
